2023 Retrospective
Let's take a stroll down memory lane and see what happened in the world of Grocery CRUD in 2023.
The main goal for 2023 was to make Grocery CRUD Version 3 rock-solid. Guess what? Mission accomplished! Cruising smoothly with Version 3.0.19 (roughly one new version every 3 weeks), and get ready because Version 3.1 is in the oven, cooking up some more goodness 🧑🍳
Ever wondered how I spend my days? Well, I've been keeping track! Here's how my time was distributed in 2023:
- 35% on feature development and bug fixing for Grocery CRUD. Finally spent a significant amount of time on the product itself.
- 27% on website support, including documentation and improvements. As with every year, dedicating a significant portion of my time just for website support. This year, improved the categorization of version 3 to make it more visible to everyone that version 3 is the Enterprise version only. Additionally, changed the hosting provider this year.
- 7% on migrating old forums. The website is now at https://forums.grocerycrud.com/, where older discussions for version 1 and version 2 have taken place.
- 14% on support. Actually spending 5 times more time than the previous year on help and support alone. I know you want more support but remember that I am just one person doing everything :)
- 17% on cleaning up, refactoring code, and other minor website cleanup.
Knowing where time goes helps work smarter and keeps everything ticking along nicely.
Took a big step forward by having a very own private Composer repository. Why does that matter? It means faster updates. Installing and updating Grocery CRUD is now a breeze with the shiny new private repo ✨. For more more information check the blog post: Grocery CRUD Private Composer
The adventure doesn't stop here. Gearing up for Version 3.1, loaded with cool features. The commitment to stability, transparency, and embracing new tools like the private Composer repo is what makes Grocery CRUD tick ✅.
Stay tuned for more updates and exciting things happening in the Grocery CRUD world for 2024!
